Parents as First TeachersParents are a child’s first and most influential teachers

This course is for supervisors who have been supervising project workers or home visitors for at least 6 months. Focus is on relationship-based reflective supervision and what goes into the on-going building of successful supervisory relationships. Discussion and learning centre on the attributes the supervisor can bring to the relationship and the critical issues around regular, collaborative supervisory sessions for all parent educators.

This is a 7-hour participatory course with opportunities for role-playing and small group discussions to support supervisors in their own growth and professional development. This course is recommended for those supervising any project workers working with families, including Parents as First Teachers programmes.
